Terry Ledbury a former Officer in Charge of the Toowoomba Police station has put his nomination forward for the Toowoomba Regional Council elections. Mr Ledbury was often seen on local Television News and in Newspapers as the face of Policing in Toowoomba commenting on incidents that had taken place. He worked at Goondiwindi, Dalby CIB as a Detective for eight years before being promoted to Sergeant at Dalby and later gaining further promotion at Toowoomba as a Senior Sergeant. He relieved in country areas as the Officer in Charge of Talwood, Chinchilla, Tara and Miles. He was appointed by the then District Inspector at Dalby to take charge of the relief operations and disaster management of the disastrous floods that occurred at Cooyar in 1988 resulting in the loss of three lives. He is currently a Home Care Coordinator with Queensland Health and is responsible as a part of a team, for providing domestic services to the frail aged and younger persons with disabilities and their carers in the Community. Mr Ledbury said that this service is managed as part of the Home and Community Care program by Queensland Health in partnership with the Federal Government. Mr Ledbury has promised all the people of the Electorate his full time attention if elected.
