Leeming wants Logan bushland protected
Logan City Council election candidate Geoff Leeming will push for an audit of all publicly owned bushland in the council’s area to help ensure it is protected for future generations.

Mr Leeming, who is standing for election in Division 1, said a Bushland Protection Audit would identify all Logan bushland and the different laws and regulations covering it.

Letter to the Editor - Lesley Noah in Logan

Lesley Noah writes in to chip us about our summary of the race in Logan. We have had a number of letters complaining about how we've characterised particular races - we'd like to stress that we're accepting material from all candidates, and are in no way seeking to influence readers about how they should vote. But we'll always publish fair criticisms of the site, and correct errors where they are pointed out!

My husband (Andrew Rimington)and I are running as Indepedent Mayoral candidates for Logan under the group name "From the People for the People".

We may not have millions of signs erected, but we are enjoying a lot of media attention from TV, radio and magazines because of our unusual situation - we are the first husband and wife team to nominate for the same role in the history of Australian politics.  Our story was just on the 6.00 pm news on Channel 9 this evening and we have more TV exposure still to come.

Logan Councillors: Where were you?

John Enright from Logan has a beef about councillors going missing from meetings. He's sent us some letters he's written to the Albert and Logan News. Anyone else think their councillors are acting like part-timers? Drop us a line !

Comments in the paper late last year about attendance at Logan City Council meetings suggested this had proved burdensome for some councillors

While the article on December 7 noted the amount of meetings attended.  I started wondering how long councillors stayed at the meetings.

Changes to Yarralibla requested by developer

Logan City Council, at its Development and Environment Committee meeting—starting at 08.30 on Wednesday, 27 February—will consider as item DE5 on its agenda details to do with a material change of use (MCU) request by the developer of Yarrabilba estate.
